Deleting your data
Last updated 14 October 2026
You can remove what Marcelo holds about a business, or about you, yourself — no request and no waiting. This page says where each control is and what it does. What a deletion leaves behind, and why, is set out in the privacy policy under “How long we keep it”.
Delete one business
Open the business in Marcelo and choose to delete it from its settings. Deleting a business removes its facts, its photographs and media, its drafts, its reports and scan results, its conversations, and the connections to its accounts — including every stored access token, so Marcelo can no longer reach those accounts. Its plan stops renewing.
Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Anything already published to the business’s own website, listing or social accounts stays where it was published; it is the business’s, not ours. The same is true of directory listings ordered for the business: they stay on those directories, and changing or removing one is done on that directory.
Close your whole account
From your account settings, close the account. This deletes every business in it, with everything listed above, and the API keys and records that belong to the account itself. It is immediate. Your sign-in email address is kept so that signing in again works, and you can ask us to remove it too.
Disconnect one service without deleting anything else
On Connected accounts, disconnect the service — Google, Facebook, Instagram, your website platform, or any other. Disconnecting deletes the stored token immediately, so Marcelo can no longer read from or publish to that account. The business, its content and its reports remain.
The permission you granted at the provider is separate, and withdrawing it is yours to do:
- Google — myaccount.google.com/permissions, remove Marcelo.
- Facebook and Instagram — in Facebook, Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (or Apps and websites), remove Marcelo. For an Instagram account connected with Instagram Login: Instagram Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites, remove Marcelo.
- A website platform — revoke the application password or API key you created for Marcelo in that platform’s own admin.
If you came here from Facebook or Instagram
Meta requires every app to tell people how to delete the data it received from them. The data Marcelo receives from Facebook or Instagram — the Pages or accounts you manage, and the posts, comments and insights of the one you connected — is deleted when you disconnect that service or delete the business, as described above. If you no longer have access to the Marcelo account that made the connection, email us from the address you used, and we will delete it for you.
Ask us to delete something else
For anything the controls above do not cover — your sign-in email after closing an account, a support request you had open, a copy of your data before it is deleted — write to support@meetmarcelo.ai. We confirm your identity against the account and respond within 30 days.
A small number of records cannot be deleted on request because they are the record of what was paid for or spent — billing records tax law requires us to keep, the ledger of Marcelo Credits granted and used, and the record of a domain Marcelo registered on your behalf. The privacy policy names each one and what it contains.
